While browsing through hundreds of 2011 New York Fashion Week Photos, I spotted a couple from Zac Posen that caught my eye. Specifically, the leopard nails.

Aren't these nails awesome? I may try them out later. I've done tons of zebra nails, but haven't tried leopard yet, so maybe it's time to try. : ) Note:You can click the picture for a bigger version.

I really love the hair and makeup.

NYX Round Lipstick (Updated)

Wed, 02/16/2011 - 12:39AM by glamatronic 0 Comments -

I recently purchased a few NYX round lipsticks in the shades of strawberry milk, paris, fig, frappucino, circe, and pumpkin pie. These lipsticks feel very smooth, creamy and moisturizing. As you can tell from the picture swatches below, these are also very pigmented. I think NYX lipsticks are one of the best lip colors in their price range ($3-$4).

Pictured above and swatched below from left to right; strawberry milk, paris, fig, frappucino, circe, and pumkin pie.

Strawberry Milk is a very light, baby pink shade with a creme finish. It's similar to MAC Viva Glam Gaga and Saint Germain.
Paris is a nice medium pink color with a slight blue undertone and has a creme finish.
Fig is medium coral shade with pink leans. This is a nice everyday shade for those who love pinks.
Frappucino is a nice natural lip color with neutral to slight coral undertones.
Circe is a nude color, similar to MAC Myth and is best suited for lighter skintones or for medium tones who want a concealer type of lip (keep in mind a gloss can be used over this to darken it up a bit).
Pumpkin Pie is another nude shade, but with a coral/orange tone. Pumkin Pie is great for those wanting a nude lip with warm undertones.

I would definitely recommend trying these out if you haven't already. NYX lipsticks are available in a variety of shades and can be purchased at Ulta Stores, cherryculture.com & nyxcosmetics.com

Who Would Like These Lipsticks?
-Those wanting a nicely pigmented lipstick for a great value.
-People looking for a large color selection of lipsticks

Who may not enjoy these lipsticks?
-Those looking for a longwear or transfer resistant lipstick because these only last around 3 hours.
-People who do not like making online purchases, as these are available in limited stores and may or may not be found near you.

Rating For NYX Lipsticks
User Friendly:5/5
Value/Price: 5/5
Overall: 95%

Hayley Williams Paramore Makeup 53rd Grammys 2011

Sun, 02/13/2011 - 8:56PM by glamatronic 0 Comments -

Hayley Williams, singer for the awesome rock band, Paramore, is known for her spunky fashion sense and bright orange/red hair. Tonight at the 53rd Annual Grammy Awards, she wore a sheer black and hotpink dress. The dress had black sequins, see-thru netting around the tummy area and the bottom was like a hotpink tutu. She's paired the look with black tights and black heels. She also sported tangerine red hair with matching lipstick, and a bright lime/green and yellow eyeshadow look.

I love her bright hair and bright eyeshadow. Hot pink and black is always great combo and I even like the little tutu. I would change the see-thru tummy section of the dress, but it does add quirkiness to the look, which makes it very Hayley.

Want to know which products to choose for this makeup look?

For this bright look, you'll want to use some extremely pigmented shadows. I recommend starting off by covering the lids with a bright green. Try Sugarpill Cosmetics Pressed Eyeshadow in Midori. Then, take a bright yellow shadow, Sugarpill Buttercupcake and halfway overlap the green. This will give you an effect of bright green, then lime green, then yellow. Also, take the yellow and highlight the inner corners of your eyes with it.
Liner. I haven't found a large close-up of Miss Williams, but I think she is wearing black liner. Take a black pencil liner like Urban Decay Zero and line your lower lash-line.
Falsies. Hayley appears to be wearing some false lashes on the outer corners of her eyes. Here's a trick so you don't have to go buy a special pair of half lashes. Take a pair of your normal falsies and cut them in-half. Now you can use them on the corners of each eye : )
Brows. If you want to go all-out, you can get a red/orange lip liner and line your eyebrows resulting in a red/orange brown like Williams.

Hayley is wearing an orange/red lipstick. Estee Lauder Extravagant Red Lipstick has a heavy orange leans like Hayley's.

Do you like Hayley's look? Who's look did you like the most at the Grammy's? Leave a comment below and let me know.

Rhianna 53rd Annual Grammy Makeup

Sun, 02/13/2011 - 7:57PM by glamatronic 0 Comments -

Rhianna attended the Grammy's in a... special dress. It kind of reminds me of Christmas Garlands. Anyway, her makeup was pretty and unique. She was wearing a pink eyeshadow look with a two-toned berry and red lip.

Want to know how to get Rhianna's Makeup from the 53rd Annual Grammy's? Here's How:

You'll want to find a trio or quad of pinks. Put the light pink all over the lid, the darkest pink in the crease and then use the medium pink to blend-out the top of the crease to better blend with your skin. MAC Wonder Woman Eyeshadow Quad in Defiance has multiple shades of pink that will work for this look.
*Next apply several coats of lengthening Mascara to the top and bottom lashes (such as Maybelline The Falsies Mascara) or you can apply a pair false lashes.

Rhianna used several shades of lipsticks to create an ombre effect. Start by lining your lips with a dark red/berry shade. Next, apply a light red all over the lips and then a medium to dark red on the outer portion of the lips. Try using NYX Round Lipstick in Electra and Snow White.

What do you think of Rhianna's look? Who's look did you like the best at the Grammy's? Leave a comment below and let me know.

Katy Perry 53rd Annual Grammy Makeup & Hair

Sun, 02/13/2011 - 6:55PM by glamatronic 0 Comments -

Katy Perry wore a white Armani Prive dress with a jewel encrusted bar and light-up angel wings. The inspiration for the look was a Disco Angel. Her makeup was super pretty and my fav makeup out of everyone at the Grammy's.

Want to know how to get Katy Perry's Gorgeous Grammy Makeup? Here's how:

*Take a pretty lilac purple shade and sweep all over the lid. Try the New Revlon CustomEyes Shadow & Liner Palette in the Shade Party Pops. This contains a couple purple/lilac shades for you to choose from as well as a green shade to use on the bottom lash line. Or you can use the lavender shade of COVERGIRL Smoky ShadowBlast in Silver Sky, blend it all along top lid from lashline to crease. If you'd rather use a pencil liner for the bottom green shade, try Urban Decay 24/7 Liner in Graffiti CoverGirl Liquid Line Blast in Green Glow.

*Next, apply any black liner to the top and bottom lash-lines. Use a liquid liner on top if you want a more dramatic effect like Katy has and wing the liner out slightly. Then apply a pair of false lashes. If you aren't sure how to apply falsies click here for my step-by-guide to apply false lashes.
*Brows. Katy's brow strong and colored in here, so make sure to get use an eyebrow pencil to color in your brows if they are sparse or too light. The rule of thumb is if you have light hair, use a shade two shades darker for your brows. If you have dark hair, go with a shade two shades lighter on the eyebrows.

Katy is wearing a beautiful, bright pink lip color. For something similar, try applying CoverGirl Lip Perfection in Temptress or NYX Paris. If you want to step-it-up and make it even a bit more bright, try Milani Rose Hip.

Katy is wearing a delicate pink blush. My go-to light pink is NYX Blusher in Angel.

And now, you're done!

Eva Longoria 53rd Annual Grammy Awards Makeup

Sun, 02/13/2011 - 5:20PM by glamatronic 0 Comments -

Eva Longoria attended the 53rd Annual Grammys in a super cute, short black and white dress. The top of the dress had a scoop neck and large ruffles that drew attention to her face. She wore her hair up, paired with a nude lip and long falsies. I think I like her dress the most out of the gowns I've seen so far.

Here's how to duplicated Eva's Grammy makeup:

Eva's Face makeup is rather simple. Start out using your favorite foundation and pair with a glowy peachy/pink blush, such as Hard Candy HoneyMoon. For a less shimmery blush, use NYX Peach.
She also appears to have a slight cheek contour, so use a bronzer such as NYC Bronzer in Sunny. Use an angled brush, start where the top of your ear connect to your cheek, and apply the bronzer at a downward angle underneath your cheek bones. This will make your cheeks pop and appear more defined.

Eva is wearing a somewhat neutral eye with long, full lashes. Use a taupe eyeshadow such as Covergirl Tapestry Taupe or NYX Iced Mocha. Apply all-over the lid and blend with a lighter shade. Highlight the upper brow-bone with a shimmery white shade, try Urban Decay Polyester Bride. Line the eyes on top and bottom with a black pencil liner such Urban Decay Zero or any black pencil liner. Finally, apply a pair of falsies. I like NYX 112, Ardel Wispies, or choose your favs.

Ms. Longoria is wearing an extra nude lip. For really pale lips, use MAC Lipstick in Myth or ELF Mineral Lipstick in Natural Nymph. For a slightly darker nude lip, try MAC lipstick in the shade Blankety or NYX Round Lipstick in Honey.

Selena Gomez 53rd Annual Grammy Makeup

Sun, 02/13/2011 - 5:10PM by glamatronic 0 Comments -

Selena Gomez arrived at the 2011 Grammys in a stunning, shimmering dress. The dress was ivory-toned with a gorgeous, golden gleam. She wore her hair down in tousles and accessorized with matching earrings and two silver bracelets.

Selena's makeup artist was Karan Mitchell. She says the inspiration for Selena’s makeup was to compliment the champagne shade of her J.Mendel dress.

Here's how to get Selena's Grammy Look using Covergirl Products:

Line your upper and lower lashline with COVERGIRL LiquilineBlast eyeliner in Brown Blaze. Use a medium eyeshadow brush to blend the light shade from the COVERGIRL Smoky ShadowBlast in Bronze Fire all over the eyelid and up towards the eyebrow. Next, take the darker shade and blend the color above and below the eye as well as into the crease of the eyelid.
Then use COVERGIRL Eye Enhancers Eyeshadow in Brown Smolder on the outside corners of the upper eyelids to create more dimension and draw a thin winged line to the outer edges of the upper lash line using COVERGIRL LineExact Liquid liner in Very Black. Finish the eyes with two coats of COVERGIRL LashBlast Volume Mascara in Black.

Use COVERGIRL NatureLuxe Silk Foundation to give your skin a flawless finish. Highlight the t-zone and under the eyes I used with COVERGIRL CG Smoothers Conceale. Set the base with COVERGIRL TruBlend Pressed Powder. Then apply Covergirl Cheekers Blush in Pretty Peach.

Lips Use COVERGIRL Lip Perfection lipstick in Siren.

Jennifer Hudson Makeup 53rd Annual Grammys

Sun, 02/13/2011 - 4:52PM by glamatronic 0 Comments -

Jennifer Hudson arrived at the 53rd Annual Grammys wearing a gorgeous, sparkly, blue gown. She wore her hair sleek and straight, pairing it with a nice, natural nude lip and shimmering silver bracelet.

Jennifer is set to take stage tonight with Christian Aguilera, doing an opening tribute at the Grammys for the ultimate queen of soul music, Aretha Franklin.

To duplicate Jennifer's Makeup...
Use black eyeliner in the outer corners of the eyes. One of my favorites is Loreal Linear Intense Black Liner. Use a Voluminous mascara such as Loreal Voluminous Carbon Black.

Jennifer is wearing a nude, glossy lip. Try using Revlon Soft Nude and top with NYX Lip Gloss in Whipped.

Be sure to check back soon for details on how to get hair and makeup just like Miss Hudson's Grammy look. I will be updating my blog live, all night, letting you on what everyone is wearing at the 2011 Grammys. : )
